Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will too, you can.

The main entrance gate (KWS Main Gate) is located on Langata Road, approximately 7-10 km (4-6 miles) south of Nairobi’s city center.

The park is open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, including weekends and public holidays. .

Early morning (6:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.) is the best time. Animals are most active in the cooler hours, and you’ll have a better chance of seeing predators. Late afternoon (3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.) is also good.

The park is open year-round. For easier wildlife spotting, visit during the dry seasons (June to September and January to February). The wet seasons (April-May and October-November) offer lush, green landscapes and excellent bird watching, though animals can be harder to see in the thicker vegetation.

There are no major restaurants inside the park itself. However, there are several picnic sites (like the Impala Observation Point). You must bring your own food and drinks. The Nairobi Safari Walk & Animal Orphanage just outside the main gate has a cafe.

• Wear: Neutral-colored clothing (beige, green, brown), a hat, sunglasses, and comfortable shoes.

• Bring: Binoculars, a camera, sunscreen, insect repellent, plenty of drinking water, and snacks. A light jacket is useful for cool mornings.
